Détails

Gear Up! is a new series of Workbooks targeting students of the secondary level.

Using learning strategies and transfer of competencies suggested by the Québec Education Program, these five new Workbooks, one for each secondary level, promote reading, writing and speaking the English language to students engaging in tasks of interest to them.

The proposed activities such as preparing an anniversary party, inventing a mutant and its environment, reading about the tragic story of passengers surviving a plane crash in the Andes Mountains, will encourage students to actively participate in their own learning experience. The strategies suggested in Gear Up! include anticipation, identification, deduction, cooperation, inference and self evaluation.

Each Workbook comes with a teacher’s guide that suggests various strategies integrating vocabulary and grammar.

Each guide also contains additional activities, quizzes, word games and formative evaluation charts that teachers can reproduce according to the needs and preferences of their students.

These Workbooks and guides were written by experienced teachers sharing their brainwaves, ideas and secrets, with the goal to instil in students the love for learning the English language.

Gear Up! allows students to see the connections between what they know, what they learn and what they hear, and their taste and interest.

Gear Up! is designed as a pedagogical tool allowing for a better knowledge of a fascinating and modern language, the English language.
